Qatar Participates in Annual NATO Conference on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction

The State of Qatar took part in the 2020 Annual NATO Conference on Weapons of Mass Destruction, Arms Control, Disarmament and Non-Proliferation, held virtually on Tuesday.

The State of Qatar was represented at the conference by HE Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of Qatar's Missions to the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Discussions at the conference this year focused on succeeding the 2020 NPT Review Conference, and the approach that the five nuclear powers are supposed to follow in order to achieve tangible results in the Review Conference.

The annual NATO conference is one of the main meetings for non-proliferation and disarmament of weapons of mass destruction in the world, and a forum for strategic dialogue on the issue of prohibiting the use of these internationally prohibited weapons.
