Qatar Inaugurates New Headquarters of its Embassy in Brussels

Qatar's mission in Brussels inaugurated the new headquarters of its embassy.
The inauguration was attended by Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders, HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Mureikhi along with a number of Belgian officials and high-level representatives of European institutions as well as Arab and foreign ambassadors accredited to Belgium and representatives of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
In a speech on this occasion, Reynders commended the depth of relations between his country and the State of Qatar and expressed his delight at the advanced progress attained and at the achieved level of partnership in record time. While lauding the visit of Belgian economic delegation headed by HRH Princess Astrid to the State of Qatar in March 2015 and to the magnitude of the business delegation that visited Qatar, he said that the mission contributed to strengthening the existing partnership between the two countries and opening of prospects for other new partnerships.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium attributed the steady growth in bilateral relations to the strong convictions and importance attached by the two sides to these relationships, adding that the inauguration of this building reflects the progress of these relations. He pointed out that the new headquarters of the Embassy of the State of Qatar reaffirms Qatar's commitment to a more effective and constructive cooperation with the Brussels-based international institutions as well as with all other actors operating in the capital of Europe.
For his part, HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Mureikhi said that the value of this building is not only in its architecture but also in the consolidation of the concepts of development of relations between the Kingdom of Belgium and the State of Qatar.
While praising the importance of the Kingdom of Belgium, His Excellency said that the bilateral relations between the two countries have recently seen a remarkable development on different levels through political and economic visits which culminated in the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding in many fields.
Pointing to the geopolitical importance of the Kingdom of Belgium as it is the capital of the European Union and hosts the headquarters of the Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and many other organizations, HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of partnership with the Kingdom of Belgium and hoped for further progress in relations between the two countries.
For his part, HE Qatar's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani extended his thanks and appreciation to the Belgian government and authorities on all forms of support extended to construct this edifice which reflects the progress in relations between the Kingdom of Belgium in Qatar as well as permanent and continuous coordination in all international and regional issues.
His Excellency expressed his happiness at the opening of the new headquarters of the embassy in Brussels in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium and HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Mureikhi and ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom of Belgium, among others.
