Qatar announces the hosting of the third meeting of the Consultative Group for the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative 2016

Qatar participated in the second meeting of the Consultative Group for the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative, held in Kuwait on 16 and 17 of this month.
Qatari delegation was headed by HE Sheikh Ali Bin Jassim Al Thani, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, the European Union and NATO, "NATO". From the military side, the meeting was also attended by Major General Sanad Ali al-Naimi, commander of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Qatari Armed Forces. During his speech, HE Sheikh Ali Bin Jassim Al-Thani talked about to the views and ideas of the Istanbul Cooperation initiative, methods, and ways leading to its development and achieving its objectives, in addition to the current challenges facing the Gulf region and the Middle East.
HE announced that the State of Qatar will host the third meeting of the Consultative Group for the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative in 2016.
The Ambassador also highlighted the positions of the State of Qatar and its efforts in order to support and strengthen the prospects of cooperation between the countries of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative and NATO. It should be noted that the second meeting of the Consultative Group of countries Istanbul Cooperation Initiative was dedicated to the exchange of opinions and views on cooperation between the ICI countries and NATO, as well as the current challenges and achievements. The meeting was attended by Assistant Secretary General of NATO for Political Affairs and Security Policy and high-level officials from ICI countries and NATO.
