H.E Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met H.E Ms. Federica Mogherini, the High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union, in Brussels today.

The meeting discussed the current situation in the region, the European Union's position on the Syrian crisis, and ways to support a political solution under intensive bombing campaign on the city of Aleppo and the Russian announcement about a truce to deliver humanitarian aid to the residents of Aleppo.

The meeting also discussed the latest developments in the city of Mosul, the Republic of Iraq, and stressed the importance of ensuring the return of displaced persons in light of the worsening humanitarian situation.

HE Minister of Foreign Affairs and H.E the High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union stressed their support to the implementation of the political agreement in Libya, with the participation of all the components of the Libyan people.
