HE Sheikh Ali Bin Jassim Al-Thani, head of the diplomatic mission of the State of Qatar to NATO, pointed out the need to unite the visions of Istanbul cooperation initiative countries» towards various regional issues as one of the aspects of building a unified regional security strategy to support the security of the Gulf region.

His Excellency said in an interview with Al Watan newspaper that « The security threats are not inclusive and we must deal with it in a comprehensive and joint matter», pointing to the importance of deepening political and strategic dialogue between the initiative and the NATO countries, setting up defensive exercises between the two sides to build security capacity. He noted that the third meeting of the Consultative Group for the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative represents «added value to the partnership between the countries of the ICI and NATO, including helping to make the world safer and more stable.».
