Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Didier Reynders has commended positions taken by the State of Qatar, under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, on regional and international issues. Speaking at a ceremony held on the occasion of laying the foundation stone of the new Embassy of the State of Qatar in Brussels, Reynders lauded the leading role of the State of Qatar in political sphere and in all fields.
Talking about Qatari-Belgian ties, he described them as distinguished and would further grow and prosper, expressing his hope that the new embassy would play more roles in the benefit of trade, economic and political exchange between Doha and Brussels, which hosts European Union and is a place for international organizations and institutions.
The Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister in his speech congratulated HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, for his efforts in support of the relations between the two countries. For his part, HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani underlines the importance of the Qatari-Belgian relations, explaining that it stems from the vision of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The new embassy demonstrates Qatar's desire to achieve greater convergence not only at the level of diplomatic missions, but also at the level of the peoples of both countries through closer cooperation to overcome obstacles to mutual understanding, he added. HE the Ambassador also expressed his thanks to the ambassadors of Arab and foreign countries, heads of missions and dignitaries who attended the ceremony.
