H.E Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Qatar's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, the European Union and Head of the State of Qatar's Delegation to NATO, met with Mr. James Abatturai, Deputy Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Security Policy.

They discussed the position of the State of Qatar on developments in the situation In the Gulf region, ways to strengthen relations between Qatar and NATO, and the importance of cooperation in various fields of common interest, in the light of Qatar's membership in the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative and its individual partnership agreement with NATO.

Mr. James Abatturai recently served as NATO Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Central Asia and the Caucasus Region, as well as NATO Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Security Policy.
