Foreign Minister Briefs Belgian Counterpart on Qatar's Efforts to Combat Terrorism

Qatar's Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met today with HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium Didier Reynders, during his current visit to Brussels.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations and means of boosting and developing them , especially in the fields of trade and investment, in addition to the developments in Syria, Libya and Iraq.

HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs briefed the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister on the latest developments of the Gulf crisis and the illegal measures taken against the State of Qatar. He said that the region did not need the Gulf crisis, stressing that the siege countries have not yet provided any evidence towards the State of Qatar or legal reasons that could be based on.

HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani also told the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium, about Qatar's efforts to address, combat and eradicate the sources of terrorism, which falls under the umbrella of the international definition of terrorism, reaffirming Qatar's gratitude for Belgium's efforts to stop the financing of terrorism.

For his part, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium expressed his country's readiness to try to create a new mechanism for dialogue between the GCC countries.
