Ambassador of the State of Qatar met with the Advisor on International Affairs of the Prime Minister of Belgium

H.E Ambassador Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Belgium, the European Union and the head of its mission to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), met with H.E Dr. Stephane Mund, Advisor of the Belgian Prime Minister on the International Affairs, at the Belgian Council of Ministers in Brussels.

During the meeting, they discussed several issues of mutual interest, regionally and internationally.

H.E Dr. Stephane Mund praised the relations between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Belgium in the political, economic and cultural fields. He pointed out that, Qatar is an important partner for Belgium, as evidenced by the number of Belgian companies operating in Qatar and the High-level of economic missions and mutual visits, especially on the light that, the coming period that will witness a qualitative leap in the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Regarding to the siege imposed on the State of Qatar, H.E Dr. Stephane Mund said that, the siege is not a solution to the differences, and it would be useful to sit at the table of dialogue. H.E stated that, what the State of Qatar is being exposed to, will cast a negative shadow on the stability of the Gulf region and Middle East in general.

For his side, Ambassador Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Khulaifi said that, the State of Qatar has been calling and continue to call for resolving differences through dialogue, and calls for the stability in the Middle East.

H.E Alkhulaifi explained the important steps taken by the State of Qatar to fight terrorism at all levels; Regionally and globally. He explained the State of Qatar's adherence to it's political, moral and religious constants in managing it's differences with the countries of the blockade, and it's unwillingness to submit to anything that would prejudice their sovereignty and independence.
