Qatar Participates in International Ministerial Conference on Victims of Ethnic and Religious Violence in Middle East

The State of Qatar has participated in the 3rd International Ministerial Conference on Victims of Ethnic and Religious Violence in the Middle East, held in the Belgian capital, Brussels.

Qatar was represented at the conference by HE Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of its Missions to the European Union and NATO.

Addressing the conference, HE the Ambassador Al Khulaifi, said that the State of Qatar contributes to a wide range of humanitarian and development sectors without any discrimination. He noted the pledges and assistance provided by the State for the benefit of the Syrian people since the outbreak of the crisis to date, amounting to approximately $ 1.6 billion .

He also highlighted the importance that Qatar attaches to education as a cornerstone for supporting children around the world to remove them from the critical circle that leads to extremism and terrorism, where the Education Above All Foundation, in collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), had launched a new project in September 2017 to enable 95,000 children affected by the war in Syria to receive quality education by co-financing with the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) .
