Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense participates in the meeting of Resolute Support

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Dr. Khaled bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah participated in the meeting of defense ministers of the NATO countries participating in the Resolute Support operation in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan held in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in the Belgian capital Brussels.

The meeting dealt with the extension of financial commitments required to finance the Afghan security forces until 2024 and how to fill the deficit in the number of individuals required to participate in the process of Resolute Support and review of the political and security situation in Afghanistan in addition to the proposals for dialogue between the parties to the conflict.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed al-Attiyah delivered a speech during the meeting, in which he said that the State of Qatar still provides the ground for dialogue between the conflicting parties to reach a reconciliation that supports Afghanistan in its stability.

He added that the State of Qatar would have been able to provide more than what was provided without the illegal blockade.

The meeting was attended by H.E Ambassador Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Qatar's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, Head of Mission of the State of Qatar to the European Union and NATO,  H.E Brigadier General AbdulHadi bin Mubarak Al Hajri, Qatari Military Attaché to Belgium and NATO and senior officers of the Qatari Armed Forces.
